The free vaccination programme
Vaccinations are the best way to protect yourself against serious illnesses and thus maintain your health in the long term.
It is therefore a matter of course for our practice to be a voluntary part of the free vaccination programme.
Below you will find further information on all vaccinations that are provided free of charge in Austria.
We would be happy to advise you individually on the benefits, procedure and possible side effects of vaccination. Please feel free to make an appointment for a vaccination consultation – we will ensure you receive the best possible protection.
Shingles (herpes zoster)
Shingles (herpes zoster) can be very painful and protracted, especially for people over the age of 60 and those with certain risk factors. Vaccination offers effective protection by significantly reducing the risk of disease and possible complications.
The vaccination consists of two doses administered 2-6 months apart.
The vaccination is free of charge for people aged 60 and over or those with certain risk factors.
For people who do not fall within the definition of the free vaccination programme, the vaccination currently costs €265 twice (including vaccination fee).
You can find out whether you belong to a risk group HERE.
Pneumonia (pneumococci)
A vaccination against pneumococci provides reliable protection against severe pneumonia and its possible consequences, especially for people aged 60 and over or those with chronic pre-existing conditions. It specifically strengthens the immune system against the most common pathogens and can significantly reduce the risk of hospitalisation.
Only one vaccination is necessary.
The vaccination is free of charge for people aged 60 and over or those with certain risk factors.
For people who do not fall within the definition of the free vaccination programme, the vaccination currently costs €170 (including vaccination fee) at our clinic.
You can find out whether you belong to a risk group HERE.
Free childhood vaccination programme (up to 18 years of age)
We are part of the free childhood vaccination programme and carry out all recommended vaccinations free of charge.
We would be happy to advise you on whether your child is still missing any vaccinations – simply make an appointment for a vaccination consultation.
You can also check in advance whether any vaccinations are outstanding – you can find the current vaccination schedule with information on cost coverage HERE.
IMPORTANT: As the vaccinations in the free childhood vaccination programme must be obtained from the pharmacy using a voucher, we do NOT stock them at our practice. Please send us an email if you would like to bring your child in for a vaccination so that we can organise everything in advance.
