Allgemeines zu HIV - PrEP, PEP & Co
There are basically 3 different ways of using HIV drugs:
- PrEP (=Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis): intake before sexual intercourse to minimize the risk of HIV transmission
- PEP (=Post-Exposure Prophylaxis): intake after a risk contact to minimize the risk of HIV infection
- ART (=Anti-Retroviral Therapy): Taking a combination of several HIV drugs to treat an existing HIV infection
